A lot of the time, the doctors are wrong about how much you have to live. They might give you a month, you might live for ten years. The person can't just give up because they're dying. If they're physically able to get out of the house and have the money, I think I'd try to see the world, make a difference, and love every single person around me as much as I possibly could. A lot of people take the time they have on earth for granted until they realize it's running out.

My mother and our family was told she had 30 days which turned out to be 14 days.

This is what we did. We brought her home and took care of her. We had the last days to ask forgiveness and give forgiveness. We had a chance to spend time with her and show our love and support. We cherished her last remaining days and we at her side when the final moments came.

We were left with no regrets and that is what is really important. It was so much easier to let her go and she was at peace.

I hope this will help you, my mom died in Oct 2006 just 3 months ago.

Spend as much time as I could with my family.

I also wanted to say that back in February of 2006, my grandfather was given two months to live and he's still alive and doing better than ever right now. My grandparents come from the generation that everything a doctor says must be true and when the day came up that he was supposed to be dead by he turned to my mom and said "my expiration date's up. what now?". So, doctors are not always right.

Try to find out if there is a way out and that the doctor was wrong!!!!! I'd change my diet, use faith healing, whatever it took. A lot of people had that happen to them and found out that whoever told them that was wrong. They just had to change something in their lives that was causing their illness.

If it is cancer, I'd go to cancercenter.com. They have a 1 800 toll free phone number to call. They use traditional means of treatment as well has holistic and naturopathic.

In the meantime, I'd do a lot of other things. I'd make myself as comfortable as possible, let others who loved me take care of me and help me through, try to enjoy the rest of my life. And I wouldn't let anyone tell me I couldn't walk away from my problems.

I'd listen to the Tim McGraw song: "Live Like You Were Dying"

Tim McGraw - Live Like You Were Dying Lyrics

He said I was in my early forties
with a lot of life before me
when a moment came that stopped me on a dime
and I spent most of the next days
looking at the x-rays
Talking bout the options
and talking bout sweet time
I asked him when it sank in
that this might really be the real end
how's it hit you when you get that kinda news
man what'd you do

and he said
I went sky diving
I went Rocky Mountain climbing
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named FuManchu
and I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter
and I gave forgiveness I'd been denying
and he said someday I hope you get the chance
to live like you were dying.

He said I was finally the husband
that most the time I wasn't
and I became a friend a friend would like to have
and all the sudden going fishin
wasn't such an imposition
and I went three times that year I lost my dad
well I finally read the good book
and I took a good long hard look
at what I'd do if I could do it all again

and then
I went sky diving
I went Rocky Mountain climbing
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named FuManchu
and I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter
and I gave forgiveness I'd been denying
and he said someday I hope you get the chance
to live like you were dying.

Like tomorrow was a gift and you got eternity to think about
what'd you do with it what did you do with it
what did I do with it
what would I do with it'

Sky diving
I went Rocky Mountain climbing
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named FuManchu
and then I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter
and I watched an eagle as it was flying
and he said someday I hope you get the chance
to live like you were dying.
To live like you were dying
To live like you were dying
To live like you were dying
To live like you were dying

I would love my family..spend time...all the time I could. share my knowledge of the world try and prepare them for my death. If I had the money I would take them on a vacation.Just make sure they know I love them and its not there fault. If I were single I would try and do everything I wanted to do and do it right.

I would tell the doctors that they're not fortune tellers. Many people who fight their illness actually overcome it such as cancer, diabetes, etc.....
People who give up and don't care anymore will die faster.
