If anyone can it would be him. I think Walter was the best ever...just a champion player in every aspect...I am beginning to think LT has those same qualities and I root for him.

Look back on last year.....the same thing was being said about Shaun Alexander. Two years ago the same talk was about Priest Holmes. Tomlinson is good but best ever? He still has a lot to prove before he even approaches that level.

One of the best ever. Not the best though. I think it's almost impossible to portray one as the best ever. Sersiously think about it. Every great back throughout history was great for different reasons. Bary Sanders...could cut corners and make you miss like no one else, Jim Brown....hit you and keep on moving, Emmitt Smith...the most dependable back there ever was, Walter Payton....no explanation needed, Jerome Bettis...big fast and reliable. The list goes on. LT will no doubt hold a lot more records but it's hard to pinpoint on person as "best ever".

No.

Tomlinson is similar to Walter Payton in style, but not as good--and on my list Payton is the #3 of all time. So I guess what I'm saying is that Tomlinson will never be top 3 all time in my eyes.

L.T. definatly has the talent to do just that. But so could've Barry Sanders, but look at what happened to him.I personally that he could be but has got to the like of Walter Payton or Gale Sayers give him a couple of years and if he keeps going like he is I will completely agree with you.
