Or is it more like giving Josef Stalin's USSR one more chance to get it right? [or maybe it's more like giving the 3 Stooges the chance to transport vials of the Ebola virus from research lab to research lab all over the nation?]

Regardless of what any one says, Bush has to be "right". Does not matter how many Soldiers/Marines lives are simply wasted on his war. He likes to talk about "sacrifices", the "price". Exactly what has he or Cheney or Rice "sacrificed"??? Ms. Boxer of California had it right. They have not sacraficed nor "payed" for anything. A dose of reality?? On their next "tourist" trip to Iraq they need to see a young Soldiers/Marines face in a body bag. Maybe then they would understand the "price". Maybe, but I doubt it. And yes, Bush is still waiting for his "victory Rose parade in Baghdad".

You obviously don't understand the situation here. The scenarios you describe are nothing like what is happening in Iraq.

We don't want Iraq as part of our territory. It would be easier if we did go in and take it over, but we haven't, and won't. We aren't engaging in genocide (as your friend Hussein did.) Iraq is having a civil war right now, and we are in the middle, because we took down the MINORITY leadership of that country who HAS been engaging in Genocide for years. They are upset that they are no longer in power, and are acting as terrorist, not enemy combatants. You may recall, if you read any history that hasn't been changed to make you feel better, we had a devastating civil war here as well once. The hardships, and bad feelings from that, are still going on today, over a hundred years later!

So, I will ask you this, since you understand the politics of the middle east so well, why is it we have killed many Al Quieda operatives and leaders in Iraq, but they have no ties to terrorist groups? Why have we found mass graves if Saddam was such a nice guy? Why do you think that happy thoughts and sunshine will make terrorists go away and not attack us again? Do you even remember what happened on 9-11-01? You don't have to be too smart to figure out that Saddam hated us. He would do anything he could to hurt the US. If you couldn't put that one together, you are pretty sad.

Not really. It's like any political action that has struggled/failed in our history. Bush went in thinking the USA could win and control the situation. Obviously not.

Can we just cut and run? The region would be completely destabilized and I could see us being forced to re-deploy in less than a decade. Not to mention how we would look in the world view.

Do we just leave the same number of troops there? Even the most fervent war critics can see that we don't have the troops and supplies to counter an insurgency. Every time we control a region to any degree, another area flares up. They bring more troops to that region and the original region flares up.

It's just like the presidents who were saddled with Vietnam, or more recently when Clinton was saddled with Somalia when he took office. It's more complicated than comparing Bush to Nazis and Communists.

Or maybe it's like the Democrats passing legislation to give one privately owned corporation the power to dictate US monetary and economic policy like they did in 1913 when they passed the Federal Reserve Act.

So much for the "Party of the People." More like the Party of Special Interests That's Always Playing The Blame Game and Pointing The Finger at The Other Guy.

I don't know who is more stupid, the current president, or the folks who voted him into office, not once but twice.

NO, IT'S ABSOLUTELY COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. I'M SICK OF ALL YOU IDIOTS DISRESPECTING THE PRESIDENT EVERY TIME HE TURNS AROUND!!!!!!!!! DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DO A BETTER JOB? IF SO, GET YOURSELF OUT THERE AND TRY. OH, YOU CAN'T. THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT!!

COMPARING OUR PRESIDENT TO HITLER IS AN ACT OF TREASON AGAINST OUR COUNTRY. IF YOU HATE OUR PRESIDENT SO BAD, MOVE AWAY! YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AND FREEDOM TO DO THAT! IF YOU ARE NOT PART OF THE SOLUTION, DO NOT CONTINUE TO BE PART OF THE PROBLEM!!

I LOVE THIS COUNTRY AND SUPPORT IT'S PRESIDENT NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!! HOW MANY OF YOU CAN SAY THE SAME?
