It's mostly because of ignorance, intolerance, and fear of difference. People who actually spend time hating other people for whatever reason they do really don't love themselves like they are supposed to. They are hiding behind whatever they are prejudiced against. We are all human-beings. We all have the same body parts and red blood. If my child fell in love with someone of a different race what would that matter? Like you, I believe that all people are equal. Yes, all cultures do act very differently but if they did not...what would this world be like??? It all balances out. Don't you agree??? Take care.

I am not racist but my parents are. I have fought them against it and guess what? They still believe it. I can say I have NOT taught my children this. I will not accept a person of a different race "for my children's sake", I will however accept them on their own merits. I think that is how it should be. Either he is a good person and treats my daughters well, or not. If he does.. he will be fine in my eyes. If he does not, forget it. But it has nothing to do with blind acceptance for the sake of my daughter's feelings.
Yes we attend the same schools, churches, shop in the same stores, and that is great. I am thrilled we can do that. Other than being taught racism from a young age, I can't tell ya why they feel that way, other than sometimes people feel the need to lay blame for their own shortcomings.
Please don't act like the only people in this world that are racist are Caucasian people either. I know ALOT of Black and Asian people that are racist against everyone else.

RACISM is something you are taught. You may not know it but you were taught as a child that all people had equal value, and it stuck. Some are taught to hate others or to blame them for the problems in the world, based on color or religion. It doesn't matter what race or religion the child is, if the parents are racist, the odds are against the child growing up non-racist.
Pity the World.

Racism is derived from our innate attitudes about territory for the most part and our need for power. Just think of kids that live across the river from each other and throw stones and taunts at each other. We need to understand our feelings and to know when they are primal and irrational.
The problems with blacks in the US is that they were brought over as slaves and were a commodity to be traded. They were not allowed to be thought of as human. Racism grew especially among the 'white trash' who were also disenfranchised and used the plight of the African Americans to put the3m down and to make themselves feel better about themselves. This kind of thing is repeated throughout society and an example is the way some ignorant men put down their waves al the time.
In the rest of the work racism occurs all over because of tribe, differences of religion, soccer teams and the like.
This type of behaviour is promoted throughout our culture from peewee sports teams to aggressive feeling from one collage to another. When are people going tp wake up? Especially those Arian Nation terrorists throughout the fabric of our counties.

Racism is a mental disease bred upon subjective thinking. Subjective thinking creates feeblemindedness and a belief system that is not supported by reality, sort of like a house of cards, or, a bubble. When people who live in subjective bubbles are faced with objective reality, they feel challenged, to the core. The "core" of us desperately tries to survive. The desperation becomes savage and vicious, hence, hate. It's a terrible bane on humanity, subjective thinking. Humanity ever evolves toward objective thinking. When times are troubled, though, the most weak-minded and fearful among us typically are the first to regress back into more primitive and savage forms of coping, such as racism.

I would not accept a child of mine marrying a person of another race. I have nothing personally against people of another race. In the Bible, it clearly states that races are not meant to be mixed( Israelis and Palestinians is the example used in the Bible). I would never accept them for my child's sake, although I believe that love could be found in someone of another race. It is just morally wrong. I do not think that everyone is racist. Face it! Everyone is different. Difference does not equal racism! There are some people that go too far, but I don't believe that half of the population is as racist as most people say they are. I have my own opinions of different races and sects, but I never disrespect them. If everyone lived by your rule, that would be great. This will never happen though. Some people still can't get over a past and always believe that they are endebted by those others. Instead of feeling sorry for your past, be glad that we ARE all equal now. These are my unracist views.

Its only pure ignorance. Racist people have no idea why africans are black and have certain caracteristics, why chinese have small eyes, etc. We have such caracteristics in order to adapt to the place we live.
Im portuguese, but my parents are africans. I have never felt racism nor ive been excluded because the colour of my skin or my origins. Its a matter of conscience too. In Europe, there is no such thing as slavery for more than 100 years, while at the US you still had in the 60's.
I was raised to be proud of who i am and my origins, knowing that no one is better than me,nor i am better than anyone,we are all in the same level.
From where my parents are, there are alot of mixed people.Ive myself indians, europeans, blonds, all in my family,so it wouldnt make much sense if i didnt approved my children having a relation with someone of another race.
I think that the only way to make people see that they are prejudiced for no reason,is to explain them why we're black, yellow, white, milky white, etc, lolol
Its something that will take its time, but it not impossible.

Read the poem below. It's a statement on human nature that EVERYONE has. Its the same nature that polarizes Democrats and Republicans. It's the same nature that creates gangs. It's the same nature that turns Jews and Arabs against each other. It's the reason for the Klan. all we can do is to work on ourselves.
We and They
Father and Mother, and Me,
Sister and Auntie say
All the people like us are We,
And every one else is They.
And They live over the sea,
While We live over the way,
But-would you believe it? --They look upon We
As only a sort of They!
We eat pork and beef
With cow-horn-handled knives.
They who gobble Their rice off a leaf,
Are horrified out of Their lives;
While they who live up a tree,
And feast on grubs and clay,
(Isn't it scandalous? ) look upon We
As a simply disgusting They!
We shoot birds with a gun.
They stick lions with spears.
Their full-dress is un-.
We dress up to Our ears.
They like Their friends for tea.
We like Our friends to stay;
And, after all that, They look upon We
As an utterly ignorant They!
We eat kitcheny food.
We have doors that latch.
They drink milk or blood,
Under an open thatch.
We have Doctors to fee.
They have Wizards to pay.
And (impudent heathen!) They look upon We
As a quite impossible They!
All good people agree,
And all good people say,
All nice people, like Us, are We
And every one else is They:
But if you cross over the sea,
Instead of over the way,
You may end by (think of it!) looking on We
As only a sort of They!
- Rudyard Kipling

Racists are low quality people who are poorly bred; their reactions are like those of simple animals. The very nature of dark and light skin tones seek division and impart a sense of opposites; only reason can rise above this animal instinct.

Unfortunately, nurture plays a huge part in whether one is racist or not. Fundamentally, it does go back to fear and also an innate need to dominate others. I wish we could all get along, but I am a dreamer.
