Actually, the less muscle, the less it'll hurt. It hurts a lot more to pierce muscle than fat. It shouldn't get infected more unless the skin around your piercing overlaps and can trap bacteria. Just make sure that you follow all the directions given to you by the piercer. Do not use any type of cotton to clean the piercing, use the correct soaps, and do sea salt soaks about twice a week.

I got my naval pierced and it did hurt a little, especially when the 16 Gauge rod was ran through it. It did not hurt for very long though. Your stomach will be sore for about a week and you can't sleep on it. Also, your naval can get infected. Clean it with anti-bacterial soap only. Don't use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol. This will dry your piercing out and you will be susceptible to infection. If you have any discomfort, make a salt water solution (just warm water and table salt) and pour it on the piercing. It is very soothing. Last but not least, go get your naval professionally pierced so if you have any complications you can go back to them. It's kind of like having insurance that you will get what you paid for and if not you will be appeased. Secondly, be careful getting your eye pierced because you can pierce a nerve if not done correctly and it will give you complications down the road.

The only thing I can think of is if you wear your clothes too tight, it may rub and get sore or infected. I would think actually getting it pierced would feel the same if you were fat or skinny, it just depends on your pain threshold. They are only piercing the skin, not going through fat or muscle layers.

It doesn't hurt more when having it done, but the issue comes afterwards. People with extra weight in their mid-sections have "rolls", which cover the piercing when in certain positions and cause it to hurt more.

the reason we pierced our belly button's ,it's to show off the jewelry ,I'm not understanding why would you want such pain and agony for 2mths to keep it hidden ,since you confess so honesty your over weight.
do you intend wearing bikini's ,short tang tops.
make sure you keep it clean ,and yes you can take showers afterwords.
good luck .

No .. it wont hurt any more
Do you have a deep belly button? If so, once it is pierced, get a male friend to pour champagne into it and then lick it out with his tongue.
Instant turn-on
