This works... If you are right handed, start using your left hand to hold your spoon or fork while eating. After about a month of this, you will notice a change in your hand/arm coordination. Sounds dumb, but I've known some crazy good point gaurds.

Here are some tips to improve your basketball:
1.Learn all the rules to this great game.
2.Understand that basketball is both a physical and mental sport.If you lack in one area, focus on being the best you can be in the other.
3.Get yourself in the best physical shape possible. Here are some exercices for ur handling and everything:
*Dribble like a madman. If you ever find yourself having to concentrate or focus on your dribbling, then you're not good enough. You should be able to 'feel' where the ball is at all times, have perfect control over it, and be able to do anything you can. Do this by spending tons of time dribbling the basketball. Push yourself to dribble faster, lower, harder, and even more out of control. You'll improve your mobility on the court and your ability to play with the best of them.
*Push-ups. Lots of push-ups. Fingertip push-ups.
*Jump rope.
* Shooting. Practice your form.
Take your strong hand (the hand you write with, or do most activities with), and place it underneath the basketball.
Practice pushing the ball straight up into the air. Flick your wrist so the ball spins while in the air.
Catch the ball with your fingers. Don't let it touch your palm. Repeat until you are very comfortable and can do it with ease.
Stand close to a basketball hoop. Do that same motion, but push the ball towards the hoop. Make sure you push high enough to get over the rim and into the hoop.
Keep the ball steady while shooting. You can put your weak hand on the side of the ball, but don't push with it, just use it to guide the ball in the direction you want it to go.
Try different shots. (this is for beginners)
Well...i hope this will help you.

The wonderful thing about being a ball-handler is you don't need a basketball hoop. My coach always told me to keep my head up when I dribble. I practiced all the time, think about dribbling the ball around with your eyes closed. Cross the ball between your legs without looking down several times. Try going as hard as you can with dribbling the basketball. Be sure to use both of your hands when you dribble. Dribble on rocks and grass, the ball will come back to you there is no need to look. Now this one is a little harder but when your riding a bike dribble while riding the bike. Basketball is a wonderful sport and you can practice all the time.

I pretty much agree with having the ball with you at all times, be comfortable with it. But you can't always be walking around dribbling, for example in the house isn't always the best idea. But you can still be playing with it.. you know the basic stuff of tossing it around your body, inbetween your legs, stuff like that. Gradually increase the difficulty of what you are doing, and don't look at the ball when you are doing it.

whenever and wherever you walk - at work, school or around the house, dribble the ball and put a few obstacles in the way so you can practise your pimped out crossover or roll over. thats what i did and in near a week i was better at handling. but then when a game came round the ball hit my foot and threw me off... quite disastrous really...
