In December I had unprotected sex (stupid i know, dont want to hear about it) a few times Christmas week, which would have been around when I was fertile. A week or two after that I began experiencing just about every early pregnancy symptom there was. I didn't think it was a sign of my period since I've never felt any symptoms of pms or my period coming on ever in my life, so I'd think that It would be a little strange for them all to start right now. Anyway they continued and then I got my period about 5 days late. It wasn't any heavier or lighter than usual, but only lasted about 2 days opposed to 4. After this I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative, but I continue to have the symptoms along with a few new ones (back pain, increased appetite, weight gain). How big of a chance is there that I'm actually pregnant just still having a period and not showing up on a urine test? I'm 17 and have always had a somewhat irregular cycle up until the past few months if that helps

Well, as a woman I would tell you that your mind could also cause this....because it happened to me when I was 19 and had unprotected sex various times. I actually gained weight and did't get my period for 2 months....stress had caused this.

On the other hand, I am now married and have a gorgeous 1-year old. Well, let me tell ya, I had my period up until I was 4 months pregnant. Honey, it is natural to have a period up until you are 6 months pregnant. A blood test from a doctor is the way to go...trust me they don't fail. The EPT said I wasn't pregnant.......when I was already 2 months pregnant! The pregnancy hormone might not be as heavily present in your body as it should. Go to a family planning clinic or any doctor, they are obligated to keep your identity under confidential terms.

take another pregnancy test.........it took 4 weeks and 3 tests before I got one that came up positive. go to a clinic or your doctor if you need to.....a doctor will bill your parent's insurance if they have it for the labs, but a clinic like planned parent hood will give you the same pee test you'd buy at a grocery store for free.

I'm sorry you're in this predicament. I lived all my life in fear of pregnancy until I got pregnant while I was married, and it was still strange as hell getting that positive pregnancy test.

Put your mind at ease, get a test done. Your mind can play tricks on your body and the stress will make your body do and feel things it doesn't normally feel or do.

You have alternatives - although I would not wish the life of a single parent on my worst enemy, you could have a baby, I would not wish the sorrow or guilt of an abortion on anyone either, but it is still legal, adoption is also an option for you.....

It is possible to have bleeding similar to a period - even if it is short - while pregnant. Good luck to you. My yahoo id is posted here if you want to message me.....I feel for you

I've heard of women with light bleeding all through their pregnancy, but it's rare. I'd take another pregnancy test in a week. My guess is that your symptoms are just in your head and you're not pregnant, but ya never know. Breast tenderness is usually the first symptom at about 3 to 4 weeks along. Other symptoms don't start until 4 to 6 weeks along typically. Good luck!

Honestly, wait a couple of days and take another test. Don't read too into the symptoms... having been pregnant... early signs are actually more like having a period... it takes a while for others too kick in... if you are still worried after another test... go to a clinic or a doctor and ask them to do a blood test.... those show up fastest.... those home tests are 99.9% right though if timing is right... they say if 19 days after you think you conceived and get a negative---- it's a negative!!!!!!

Nope, your not pregnant.

You had your period. It was a little shorter, but you said you are irregular anyway. That's how mine was at your age. But, in a few years it will work the kinks out. Plus, you took a HPT that said negative.

The HPT will detect HCG (the pregnancy hormone). I've heard of women having false negs, but in your case the HCG would be strong enough to have pregnancy symptoms it would also be strong enough to register on a test.

You answered it yourself, your having irregular cycles. Besides you can't possibly be pregnant, and get your cycle, and STILL think your pregnant. Your cycles probably messing up from too much sex...not saying your a s***, but that does really happen. And the whole pregnancy thing is all in you head, believe me, one time I found myself thinking the same thing you were. lol. The "gaining weight, and increased appetite, etc" I mean EXACTLY what happened to me. No worries, your okay.

Nerves and guilt will do this to you. Stop stressing. The pregnancy tests are quite accurate. Take another one to put your mind at ease. You made a mistake but it isn't the end of the world. Relax.....you are probably just fine.

Usually the test is right but if for some reason you feel it is wrong you can always retake it. Sometimes your mind can play tricks on your body and if you were stressed then that can cause your symptoms

chances ar it would have showed up on a test but if you are this worried you need to take another test or talk to your dr. BE more careful in the future.

ok um. fertility clinic.

and before you go, just so your prepared for the results you get, think of what you would do if you were. tell your significant other about it, and even though your probably going to be like WTFNOOOO about this, but seriosuly tell your parents. they can seriously help you about stuff.

but really, get extreemely comfortable before going to the clinic, but dont wait forever.
