No-our school has done it several times over the past 10 years as a fall production. The cast is small (no big chorus is needed like in some other musicals) and the set needs are pretty minimal.

First of all it's likely one of the most FUN performances you can put on. Certainly some script editing might have to take place, but it can enjoyable for all involved, performers and audience alike.
Props: The "Flower" is easy to recreate, and need not be so intricate. Certainly an "Actor" can be the "flower"
I'd love to be involved, again.

We performed it at our high school on a limited budget. However, we did have to drive 5 hours from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati to rent the "plant" that was necessary for the performance. I would suggest that you research if such rentals are available in your area before committing to the performance.
