Well I send my mother yellow and red carnations and a card. In part to remember my dad who use to buy her yellow and red carnations when he was alive. She generally takes them with her to Arlington National cemetary that day where she leaves them on his grave. Mothers should be remembered. ....I always call my mother on new years night to wish her a happy new years. In fact though I am not big on phoning people I try to call her atleast twice a week and as she only lives about two hours away I go see her once a month. I'm an only son and I do the best I can to let her know I have not forgotten her, I also send her a card on Christmas and Birthdays.
Seems after all the sacrifices parents make for thier children over the years sending a card or some flowers now and then is the lest a kid can do. I know they appreciate the fact that they are not forgotten in an era in which so many children turn parents over to nursing homes rather than bring them home to live with them when they're about to pass. Ah but I guess that really, is another question huh? *smile*

No. Sometimes my mom will still buy me some candy (I'm 23). But I only get my boyfriend a little somethin somethin. If I was rich I would buy her tons of balloons and candy.

Candy. She is the "practical" sort. She doesn't need anything else that lasts forever, and feels that flowers are frivolous!

i gave her a personalized card before. though she was like " you dont need to be too mushy, maybe you did something wrong huh" but i know she was touched...
