I'm sorry and I mean this in the best way. I have a gay friend and he is the coolest person. He is funny as H---. I love him. I think that's why they always have gay men on tv shows and movies for comic relief. Please I'm not judging. to each it's own. I mean this in the most respectful way.

I play poker with a gay couple. One is flamboyant & his partner very quiet. I can't ever imagine the quiet one having a bad day with his boyfriend. Just being around him puts me in a great mood

I am a gay man of 45 and have been openly gay since aged 20. I am not the camp or flamboyant type in fact I'm very opposite, I'm more likely to have a motorbike engine on the kitchen table than a vase of flowers! I don't hate flamboyant gay men, I think 'hate' is too strong a word but I do find them annoying, I don't think they do anything for gay culture only leave some folk with the impression that all gay men are like that. But to be fair I also find straight men who act 'macho' annoying in the same way. I understand that in the past gay people have had to fight for their rights and had to stand out somehow - we were persecuted for a very long time and thank god someone did fight or we would never have moved on. In this day and age though we should just be getting on with our lives and all have equal rights and opportunities despite race, culture or anything else. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not against anyone being what they want to be and half of my friends are what could be labelled 'camp' - the bit that annoys me is that almost all of them are 'camping it up' for an audience or because it's how they feel people expect them to behave - I'm forever having to tell my partner off for doing it for gods sake! He camps it up because he thinks some people expect him to act like that - that's the bit I don't like. Hope I've made myself clear and not offended anyone - hope this helps!

Tons of gay friends but it does get annoying. It sounds so forced and phony after a while.

I am sure it would be quite an experience chatting about such things as drapery, hair styles and manicures, but I would prefer to talk about football, politics or business. Count me out.

Feminity or masculinity don't matter to me but I don't want to be around drama. So no, I don't hang out with drama emos
