I'm 50 and I love being alone, always have.
Of course, I'm never alone because I have my two greatest friends.....my chihuahua's.

Sometimes I enjoy being alone. For instance, when I am at work, I work by myself while the others are in a different area. Some of the people talk quite bad so I don't have to listen to them. At night I am lonely till the weekends when I see my grandkids. I usually read a book or get on the computer till I go to bed. Wishing you a life full of happiness! You will always have friends on Yahoo answers. From one lonely friend to another!

That's okay I knew what you meant. That is funny because the older I get the more I LOVE my alone time. I don't get lonely and if I do, I pick up the phone or send out some emails and then if I'm REALLY desperate (tonight), I come here.

Although I love being around people, I have always also enjoyed my own company. I'm noticing that as I get older I'm almost never lonely, although I am alone more. I guess there are just too many things that I can do to keep myself occupied. YA, treadmill, reading, etc.

I LOVE being alone, just enough people to know there are people in the world. I get A LITTLE LONELY on New Year's Eve--other than that, I don't.

I try to set aside alone time for myself each week.I meditate and it helps me deal with the stress I go through at work. But I also like being around fun people and my family. As for being lonely, well you can be in a room full of people and still be lonely..

I love my own company; time to reflect on what's important, etc. I have 3 great galpals with whom I socialize; life is full. I don't get lonely as I did in my twenties. I think that you become less needier as you get older and don't really require all the friends and acquaintances; you sift through them to stay close to a few lifelong pals.

Alone is physical. Lonely is a state of mind. I am never alone, but I'm often lonely.

You don't have to be alone to be lonely. I think that's right I can't really concentrate with the noise from the party and all these people.

We always want the opposite to what we've got.
If you work with a lot of people in a noisy place and you've got lots of problems and owe lots of dosh - you dream about living in a little hut on a far away planet where you can sit a gaze at the sky or dig holes.
If you live in a little hut on a far away planet and all you do is dig holes you dream of working with others in a nice noisy place.
It's called 'human nature.'
Never did understand it.
But then again I live in a little hut on a far away planet.
Pst - wanna buy a hole?
