There is a misconception with the basic premise of the Republican party of supporting big business which is overwhelmingly more and more a coporation structure which guides all it's business affairs on share holders profits. Briefly stated it is the trickle down theory that if the top makes profit those profits will trickle down to the working class. With very rare exception in the history of the world that has not happened. Ultimately, the ground breaking pholosophy of the American leaders in the industrial revolution was to create a middle class that had expendable income to buy goods. This is what ultimately made The US a domenate economic power that has lasted many years. Slowly we have moved to corporation profits at the expense of the wage earned and employee. We have shrunk the buying power, health and wealfare of the worker thus shrinking our overall buying power. We see this in so many signs. Lower sales at the peak Holiday Season sales, multiple jobs for people to survive, unaffordable housing. The growing inability of the middle class to have expendable income will shrink the profits that the major corporations are forcing on the backs of the working class to keep their profits up. This thinking ultimately grows the rich class and expands the poor depleting the middle. We are setting the stage to reverse the gains of the industrial revolution and turn this country into the mirror of third world countries that did not follow our lead into the twentieth century.

http://www.uuforum.org/deficit.htm Just click on the chart and see that Republicans always increase the debt while spouting off on "trickle down economics." The problem is that the rich get richer, while everyone else continues to live paycheck to paycheck, just one misfortune from being homeless. They are doing quite nicely, thank you, due to the game being rigged in their favor. Under Dubbya's leadership the big corporations have been helping themselves to the National Treasury at $3 billion per week while borrowing the money from places like China, so that the country continues to drown in debt. Listen for the outcry when the Democrats will have to raise taxes to pay for this grand party they have been enjoying, and they will have to contribute some of their gains.

I'm just trying to be a father,
Raise a daughter and a son,
Be a lover to their mother,
Everything to everyone.
Up and at 'em bright and early,
I'm all in my business suit,
Yeah, I'm dressed for success from my head down to my boots,
I don't do it for money, there's still bills that I can't pay,
I don't do it for the glory, I just do it anyway,
Providing for our future's my responsibility,
Yeah I'm real good under pressure, being all that I can be,
And I can't call in sick on Mondays when the weekends been to strong,
I just work straight through the holidays,
And sometimes all night long.
You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf growls at the door,
Hey, I'm solid, hey I'm steady, hey I'm true down to the core,
And I will always do my duty, no matter what the price,
I've counted up the cost, I know the sacrafice,
Oh, and I don't want to die for you,
But if dyin's asked of me,
I'll bear that cross with an honor,
'Cause freedom don't come free.
I'm an american soldier, an american,
Beside my brothers and my sisters I will proudly take a stand,
When liberty's in jeopardy I will always do what's right,
I'm out here on the front lines, sleep in peace tonight.
American soldier, I'm an American,
An American,
An American Soldier

I'm actually doin' pretty good. Generally, I'm a democrat, but even I can't deny that even though we're fighting two wars at once, the economy is pretty strong, inflation is under control, and unemployment is low. W is also doin' pretty good on the deficit. So, I might not agree with the policy on Iraq, but in every other aspect, we have a pretty good president.

Capitalism doesn't work for everyone, only for the few. In order to succeed in a capitalist system you have to have certain qualities of character. Lacking these character traits DOES NOT make you an inferior, or less worthy person!!!! Capitalism was never meant to work for everyone. Its purpose was always to include some and exclude most!!!

I just read your answer Michaelsan, and I had to give you a thumbs up! Well said, and Kudos to you!!!

speak for yourself...i'm doing better than i was in 1980. i guess some people succeed and others don't. the latter tends to want to blame others for failure though i've noticed.

Huh? Low unemployment, low taxes, strong economy. Ask yourself why your not doing better if that's your point. Life is what you make it, the world owes you jack.
