Some one is blowing smoke up your butt. You must be 100% or 70% and unemployable to get on base benefits. He may be retired military and 10%. The ID you can get is the VA id card for medical benefits at a va clinic.

His spouse would not have a card regardless of how much his disablilty he had.

I am retired from the Military and worked with the VA for many years. I have worked on disability cases and the area I live in has many ex soldiers. I know where with I speak. Go to VA.gov and check it out.

If you are an American Veteran where is your ID? you should get one immediately you are entitled to those benefits. Call the American Veterans office Monday morning. Or go on line to the site www.usgovernment.gov.
Search and find the right location from listings? You will have to provide appropriate information your former ID number from service? And Photo ID and signature most probably. No post office box though for your address, must be where you reside. Or just go into a VA medical facility and apply there.

I am also a veteran, and I believe all veterans get ID Cards. Check with the local Veterans Administration. You should be able to receive health care at the V.A. Also V.F.W (veterans of foreign wars) are very good at assisting in getting your percentage raised from 10%.

Disabled veterans deserve to be cared for by the government. They put themselves at risk for the community and thus have a legitimate claim on the community similar to how an injured employee has a legitimate tort claim on the company if they caused his injury.

You need to go to your local armory to find out the information for the card. That is what my best friend's husband did when he came back from Iraq (IED explosion - he has some degree of disability).

It depends...is your disability service connected? My husband can get VA benefits but he can not get on a base.

You can get a card from the VA hospital that you use.
BUT, you do need to sit for a picture, so you need to ask for it.

If you just recieved your rating, sit back and relax, and at your next scheduled visit (or next necessary walk-in) ask about it.

depends on there time in service and also wut he was disabled for... the primary standard for the id is 40% being dropped to 30% by Bush, just like disability pay outs for PTSD went from 30% to 0% and only 10% in extreme cases
