A BFA in Music Theatre will be a good start........ It will help you to learn how to act sing and dance (called the triple threat in the theatre world). Once you have that you can take lessons outside of school in Opera voice. PLUS....... it will help you to get roles in acting and music theatre. When you are just starting out in the arts you need to be willing to take almost ANY role offered. It becomes an issue of money not genre.
