To stay focused, make sure you get plenty of sleep tonight. To stay confident, BELIEVE in yourself. As to what you should take to eat, a couple of your favorite sandwiches and a container of juice - plus a couple of oatmeal cookies - should be sufficient.
Don't rush - the scoring is on the questions you answer - not the ones you don't. Try your best to complete all the sections in the time allotted but don't "sweat it" if you leave some questions unanswered.

Be as descriptive as you can when writing - include as many pertinent facts as you can recall. Don't presume that the person who will grade your writing knows anything about what you have been asked to write. When you finish a thought, start a new paragraph for the next thought. Two or more sentences constitute a paragraph - not one LONG sentence.

This is probably late... but I took mine 2 yesterday... Saturday...
I'm a 7th grader that got selected for this DUKE TIP SAT thing...

You only got 2-3 breaks... so i just brought a banana and some crackers... nothing big b/c its only 5 minutes...

Tips... NEVER, EVER answer the last couple of questions unless you are 100% sure.... and on the medium ones... NEVER pick the obvious answers because they are most likely traps... The best thing to do... don't do every single question... b/c if you get 13 right and 12 wrong... you will get 10... b/c wrong = -1/4

Grammar.. just know the roots and you'll be okay... and also be able to read fast... Using metaphores in the essay could have potential...

i dont know if i studied as much as you did for my sats. but one thing i learned from taking it twice was that for the writing read the sentences aloud to yourself. just as when you hear your friends say incorrect english you will catch yourself saying wrong things when reading it and it will be easier to fix. dont take it too hard is the only advice i have to you. maybe i was too relaxed for the test but dont pressure yourself or you wont really think straight. just set your sights on your goal and you are ok.

Like everyone else mentioned have a goon nights sleep, consume breakfast and verify that u convey a snack. The try is long and u do no longer desire to have an empty abdomen during the try.
