Manchester United has been eliminated by League Championship side, Southend United 1-0 in the 4th round of the 2006-2007 English Carling Cup. the only goal was scored by Freddy Eastwood in the 27th minute.
the final will now be contested between two London teams, Chelsea & the winner of the other semi-final between Arsenal & Tottenham Hotspur at the end of February 2007. Arsenal & Tottenham Hotspur will meet in the second leg of the semi-final on Wednesday, 31 January 2007 at the Emirates Stadium in London. Arsenal hold the advantage as they earn a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane in the semi-final 1st leg.

Manchester United was eliminated out of the Carling Cup unfortunately to Southend United. If u remembered, it was a free_kick done by a soccer player who was a fan of Man U. The final score was 1-0........

It's the Carling Cup, which they won last year. This year they are doing very well in league play, so Ferguson is focusing on this prestigous title. They've already been eliminated from the Carling Cup and hopefully will be able to win the Barkley's Premier Cup!!!!

They got knocked out by Southend, a championship team! and the worst part is that they were defending champions! ha ha!
