Wrapped properly around a proper post, at an even incline, it would be a screw. If it were not wrapped properly, or the incline were not even in its inclination, it would be what is known as a "D%$^$@!&, I have go back to the f*&%* hardware store."

It depends on whether the plane is parrallel to the post or perpendicular. And it also depends if the plane is inclined (like a triangle) or the plane is inclined in relation to the post (successive wraps of the plane don't overlap).

You could have a thread, like that on a bolt if the plane (of the same width) is inclined relative to the post; or you might have a screw if the plane is inclined (like a triangle) AND inclined to the post.

It could also be a cylinder if a plane (of the same width) is wrapped around the post at an incline in a way that leaves no 'gaps' between itself (much like taping up a broom handle).

A screw? Maybe.

Could be a ramp, actually. Depends on what exactly you mean by "wrapped"...

God bless.
