The snail travels 2000 inches in 2 hours
Hence for travelling 1 inch,it would take 2/2000 hr
And for travelling 5o inches it would take 2x50/2000 or 1/20 hrs
Now you may convert the time of 1/20 hour in minutes by multiplying it by 60 to get 60/20 or 3 minutes.

Set up a proportion. I think it is the easiest way. Like this 2000/120 (use 120 minutes instead of hours) = 50/x Now cross multiply. Multiply 2000 times x, and 120 times 50. you should get 6000 = 2000x. Now divide to find x. You should get 3 minutes.

(2 hours / 2000 inches) * (50 inches) = 5/100 hours = 300/100 minutes = 3 minutes

s = snail's speed
t = time

s = distance/time = 2000 in / 2 hours = 1000 in/hour

t = distance/s = 50 in/(1000 in/hr) = (1/20) hr = 3 minutes
