"I trust you" from the most paranoid person in the world or "I love you" from a person who you thought had no emotions?

If the "I love you" person seemingly have no emotions, wouldn't s/he be like dead-on serious if s/he said that s/he loves you?

"I trust you" because it is more loyal than so-called love. And the non-emotional person can lie, can't they? "I love you" gets thrown around an awful lot, anyways. Besides, I know it's harder to trust than it is to love.
