It's Ephyra (EPH__FEE-RUH) or Phyra for short.
Does this sound to similar to Saphira? I'm trying to be original, and the name just came to me.

One day, when you see this name in print, remember that a famous author asked your advice years ago :)

It is different. I don't think it sounds that much like Saphira. I like it, personally. I hope the name works out for you. I'd buy a book with that name.

It's nice. Ephyra. Ephyri. Ephyrie. Aphyri. Aphyra. Aphyrie.

Yep, I think it sounds too similar to Saphira, which probably WASN'T EVEN VERY ORIGINAL IN THE FIRST PLACE. Sorry to all you Christopher Paolini fans out there, but it's just too unbearable.

I like the sound of that name. I don't know how many people would pronounce it properly though. I first thought it was Ef-i-ruh. But either sound interesting. I don't think it sounds too similar to Saphira.

I think kids today have enough challenges with poverty, safety, insufficient funds in school and just plain kids teasing each other. Why not try to be original and realistic? Think about how the poor child will feel when he is going to school. Unless you have a ton of money and fit in with the "Apple & Phinneaus" crowd, I would go less original.

I think it's too close to Elphaba, but I'm a huge Wicked fan, so w/e floats your boat, I suppose!
