Why can't some whites empathize with other minorities?

Question

why do some whites tell muslims, gays, blacks , asians, hispanics, jews and native americans to get over stuff? When I go to suburbs, they are isolated. many about .0007% minorities and when a minority moves in, WHITES move out. I heard a lot of whites tell "JEWISH JOKES" and it bothers me. When I go back to my communities, few people make jewish jokes and stuff.
Why is it that when a minority moves in a community, whties move out even IF THE MINORITY IS QUIET AND HAS NOT CRIMINAL PAST?

Why can't they place themselves in their positions?

As a Jew myself, I totally agree with you. Markelmoore's response was very rude. I think people have grown up in their middle-class, white christian worlds (and I'm not saying anything is bad about that) and they aren't used to people from minorities. They don't know how to respond to them, so they are naturally mean. It's instinct. It's also very sad, but there's not much we can do, I think, except to teach our children to be tolerant.

I live in a suburb, and I know EXACTLY what you mean, I remember moving into my house, and the neighbours looking at me and my brothers as if we were going to rob them or something. But after a while, you come to realize that not everyone's like that..just a few thick-headed idiots, and it's usually due to ignorance and stereotyping.

And they move out when other minorities move in because then they are the minority, and I guess that makes them uncomfortable.

I don't know? I am white and I have not moved out of my neighborhood just because what u call minorities have moved in. However, I am sick and tired of "minorities" as you call them always accusing whites of this behavior and saying whites r racist, but if a minority makes a joke about a white nothing is ever said. I get tired of hearing "your people made us slaves" I have never owned a slave, my parents never owned slaves neither did my grandparents or great grandparents! I went to a school when i was younger and I was the only white child besides my 2 brothers and I had people throwing racial jokes my way all the time. You left out one of the most discriminated minority groups--Women- We have been discriminated against for ages!!!

Some folks have a superiority complex. They say that we black people drive down the property values. That theory was created of course by a white man to keep us out. I happen to live in the suburbs, in a racially mixed area. I could care less about someone moving away if I moved in. I don't need to be around an ignoramus anyway. I've had white people tell ME jokes about another ethnicity and I correct them by reminding them that they'll say the same about me if I was not present. Then I walk away. Let the ignorant be ignorant.

Where I live, Baltimore, the city is around 60% blacks and 35% whites...many intrigated neighborhoods as well. You find diversity everywhere, so I have not witnessed that sort of problem

You are steroetyping you my friend are the raciest one...saying the "whites" and why do the whities do that and why do the Whities to this. How about you look past your self before you question another group of people. As if goes now the "Minorities" have more rights then us "whities". And have you watched chris rock or any other black comedien, we are made fun of too, get over yourself and stop seeing the world as black and white.

Why do 90% of your questions start with the words "WHY DO WHITE PEOPLE"??? You're not pointing out the shortfalls of white people, but only proving that YOU are the racist.

Everybody should really look at ALL your questions and see for themselves. As long as people like you are always pointing the finger and generalizing, there will be no equality.

Empathy is a rare skill worldwide .
Minorities aren't empathetic themselves . . .
If they were , could black males tie up 12 year old girls and sell them to 40 different guys a night (in Atlanta not some third world country) ?
If blacks are mean to blacks, how do you expect others to be so nice ?

Its just arrogance.....and the fact that they don't like us..........We have had white families move into our neighborhood and look shock and disappointed when we walk out the door......LOL, we've been here over 12 years.
