Absolutely! It would of course depend upon the business as well as your location. If you have a good idea, and a good location, a sole proprietor can become successful. The thing to keep in mind is, if your business starts to grow, never be afraid to grow with it. Hire employees if you need to.

Yes, but you're in for a *lot* of work and long hours, especially early on. It's not an adventure for the faint of heart.
