No, it's not fashionalbe to commit suicide. It's stupidity...and very cruel on the ones that love you. I've seen the pain that families go through more than once. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. People will grieve when you die....then eventually the only ones that will remember you will be your family....you'll eventually fade from memory from your friends. When your family dies off, then you'll be forgotten. It's a shame to purposely end your life when so many people who are deathly ill are fighting for theirs.

No, it's pathetic. Other than the immediate family, and even they eventually move on and realize that they couldn't do anything to stop a suicide attempt. It's a sign of weakness, either because of mental illness or fear of facing your weaknesses and working through them. A more noble thing is setting an example for other people with severe problems/depression issues that they can come through it. Look at Courtney Love, with all of her problems, she's been through hell and back with addiction, but she sticks it out for herself and her daughter, whereas Curt Colbain showed his weakness by ditching it all, for what? With all of the therapy out there today, for depression, drugs, family problems, through churches, AA, local agencies, there is no excuse for this sad attempt at either attention, or escape. If you are thinking about it and that's why you are asking for help, regardless of citing a poll, please, please, call someone , a suicide hotline, emergency room, whatever and don't be afraid to ask for help. Sometimes just focusing on getting help is enough to help you feel productive and can pull you out of a minor depression.

It wasn't suicide. It was sexual gratification gone wrong. He was supposed to deprive his body of oxygen so that his orgasm would be more intense, but he went too far and died in the process.
