I haven't been shopping in like a year and a half. I really want to take better care of myself. Right now I just wear whatever is in my closet, not really fashion forward stuff. I guess everything is really really casual.
But I want to go the complete opposite of that. I'm just 17 years old, but I want to be more ......sophisticated and fashionable. I just have no idea where to go.
I really love the way Lauren dresses from The Hills on mtv. (That show is one of my guilty pleasures.). And I know her stuff is really exspensive, but I think there's a way to get that kind of look without spending a fortune.
I could try forever 21 and places like that, it's just that everyone else jobs there. It's embarassing when people wear the same outfit. And I hate online shopping. You can't try anything on.
I think abercrombie is exspensive, not to mention overrated. But I think $20 for a top isn't bad.

there are a few different places you could try. first, i would hit any outlet malls or stores that you have in your area. i LIVE at the outlet mall...it's last year's stuff, but for the most part it's still very much in style and very affordable. i also love charlotte russe or the gap, both of which are at virtually EVERY mall. i would also go to a TJ Maxx or Marshall's or something like that. here in chicago they have a store called Plato's Closet where kids bring in their very lightly used clothes and get $$ for 'em. but those are always a great place to look if you don't mind stuff that's very lightly used. or even target and walmart are trying to make their clothes more fashionable and are geared towards younger crowds and they have some pretty cute stuff there, too!! good luck!! i hope i was at least a little bit of help.

I'm from Canada so not sure if you have any of these stores but this is where i like to shop: if you like "professional/classic" style i would go with Walmart the "George" line is great! If you want casual Walmart is good too but try Old Navy they have some good things too. Another favorite is Suzy Shier and Ricki's.
* If you wait til the end of season sales you can get really great prices on things you would never expect to, so things that might be out of your price range could then become a great price!!
