I believe that if I get offended, it is my own fault; because I am the one that controls how I think. What's your opinion?

It all depends on what you do and to who. In the U.S. spitting at someone is assault. Cursing them out, isn't. You can give the middle finger to an average citizen, but not a cop, you will be arrested.

Some people are offended, by public displays of affection. Some are offended by a crying baby......

You are correct, people are responsible for their own reactions to offensive situations, however some people are offended by stupid things, and just can't help themselves because they are offensive people to begin with...

No, it shouldn't be illegal. It's ok to speak your mind even if your opinion if offensive. I don't think it's my fault if I get offended because 9 times out of 10, someone offends me by saying something about something I have no control over (race, etc). Now, if someone is offensive in a situation such as work or school, then you have every right to complain. We all have to get live in this world together. Why should one butthead make any enviroment uncomfortable because they're racist, sexist or homophobic. That's their hangup, not anyone else's. If they want to exist in this world, part of that means they have to share it with others they deem beneath them. If they don't like it, they can always go live in a shack like Ted Kaczynski and leave the rest of us alone.

I do agree with the above poster. The media blows alot of things up to seem like they care. The media themselves are biased so I take everything they say with a grain of salt. I'm not easily offended but I'm not everyone.

I agree . The media makes a mountain out of every mole hill . It shouldn't be a crime to offend in the U.S. but it is when it makes money or wins one for the party .

Well, up in Michigan they're putting cheating husbands in jail. It's
also possible for your own kids to threaten to call the police if
you try to make them mind. With the way this country is going
nothing will surprise me.

No. It's impossible to say anything without offending someone.

If you have been in a grade school civics lesson, you will learn that that will never be illegal. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of our constitional rights.
