if you are sure you want to completely remove windows. download a linux distrobution. I recommend Ubuntu linux. I am using it right now. From their website you can get whats called a live cd. you put it in your drive, and restart your computer, and when it asks, you select run/install ubuntu linux
it will boot from cd and you can click the install icon on the desktop. it was ask you to format your hard drive to an ext format, you can do the whole things or make partitions so you have both windows and linux on your computer. just follow the installation instructions it gives. secondly, only some windows programs work on linux using a program called wine. One of the reaons people switch to linux, like me, is because they get sick of paying for expensive software. For many progrmas there is a free linux version that works just as good. MS office is like bucks. OpenOffice.org, a full office suite, is free, legally. hoe that helps. but i would go with Ubuntu linux definately
