I believe that if I get offended, it is my own fault; because I am the one that controls how I think.

it's becoming illegal

and it's making society ever more guarded and cold

as a consultant, i rarely talked about anything but work, at work

why risk stepping on someone's personal land mine, or be seen as not working hard?

It's not illegal, but people seem to think it is. I wouldn't go as far to say that the offended person is at fault, unless it is something silly.

It shouldn't be illegal but its not always your fault for getting offended. If someone is racist or speaks about something you care about badly how could that not hurt you? If you are that strong to not be bothered more power to you!
