Look in garden supply or farm supply websites, or http://www.leevalley.com They will have useful things to battle these. I've seen a sort of white plastic covered trough that sticks to the window discreetly, and has an attractant and sticky fly strip inside. At least you don't have to see the flies stuck there. We get lady bugs and boxelder beetles in the fall--all trying to find a warm place to over winter.

Flies like decaying matter. They harbor where there is moisture and garbage. I learned through experience this fall how to get rid of them
Clean under fridge, be sure to clean the goo away from the feet. They lay eggs there. Make sure under your sink is not damp. Clean the vent filter above your stove or the one in the ceiling if you have either one of these. These insects are attracted to sweet smells to. Pop and beer cans that sit in the trash too long. Fruit that sits on the counter and dirty dishes in the sink.
They lay eggs where is moist and warm. They will lay 300 eggs a day in these places.
I purchased white fly strips and put them in my plants and that helped too. My fly problem is gone.

I've got them too, by the hundreds. They start in the fall and go through the winter until it gets warm outside. I had my house sprayed outside and it had no effect. Exclusion seems to be the best route.
