Something semi-formal, of course!
Really, wear something a step or two above what you normally wear. Think job interview clothes. Pressed slacks, button down shirt, loafers. Skip the tie, jacket - that kind of thing. Style your hair and put on some cologne (some! don't make people wonder if you bathed in it!) and you're set.
Oh. Hmmm. Hope you're male. Oh well, this can work well for a female too. Can be quite hot, actually.

First of all-NO JEANS. It's semi-formal, which means you can't dress the way you usually do to go to school, and you can't dress as if you were going to prom. I think your best bet would be to wear something nice and comfortable to dance in, like glittery shorts, a nice top, and cute but not too high heels. Remember to always maintain a balance, if you show a lot of leg, don't show too much arm or chest. Good luck and have fun!
Wait, are you a girl or a boy? Well, if you are a boy, you can wear nice pants and a nice shirt. Nice shoes too. No jeans, like I said before. Try to stay away from flashy colors. Look good, but not eccentric. Don't wear a bow tie or a tie or anthing like that cause the dance is not that formal. Good luck!

5' 8" is way above the known top for females so for you to be advantageous. I very almost might want to completely recommend apartments on your case surprisingly once you've a date, because adult males want to have somewhat top on their dates. as well, apartments are quite famous in the present day and on the end of the day its in user-friendly words a intense college semi formal.
