Nothing is 80-20... that is a made up statictic that works because it's not too extreme for the lazy to bother fact checking.

Your point is clearly taken. I realize that the 20% are the problem such as you and the rest of the 80%. I am for change in America, and bringing back Americans Constitutional rights this Bush Administration works so diligently to smother. That has been the purpose all along. The Republicans want to conquer the American population. I say remove the problem.

I haven't heard this, but it doesn't surprise me much.
Bottom line - when they're agreed with by the majority, they'll praise the majority...
So, what happens when the majority disagrees, disproves, and even despises them??
They'll go with that "brilliant" 80/20 logic.
Not just Republicans, but the government in general isn't fond of open minds...
They'd prefer that everyone just go with the flow and not ask questions...
And, unfortunately, far too many Americans have pretty much gone with the flow for the majority of this guy's presidency - especially after 9/11......And so, now - although a little late - folks are finally opening their eyes and asking questions...
And...well...that, certain folks in the government no likey very much, ha...
But oh well - with luck, people will keep their eyes wide open and continue to hold all of the "powers that be" accountable for each and every one of their decisions and actions that affect not just this country, but the world...

Just because the majority agrees about something doesn't mean the majority is right. If 80% of the people are left out of the loop on something or mis-informed how can they make a good decision?

It wasn't really that long ago that 99% of the people thought the earth was flat.
More recently, 80% of the people wanted out of Viet Nam with no apparent regards what so ever for the millions who were slaughtered when we withdrew.
Majority rule only means the majority rules, it definitely doesn't mean it's absolute.
And for what it's worth, I seriously doubt that 80% of the people really want to trivialize the Islamic terror threat and return to our policies of inaction, apathy, diplomacy and negotiations with these dirt bags - these policies only led to more terror and finally culminated in the events of 9/11.

You know pal, you really need to give it up. These aren't the discussion boards of a bygone day (I actually miss them). They seem to be a sort of youngish innocent Q&A forum. I doubt most of the respondents are sophisticated enough to even care about your badly couched questions let alone fall into the trap of agreeing with you (thereby proving your unsubstantiated opinions). And frankly the "get it " baloney is the oldest trick in the book. You know "if you don't know what I know" you just don't get it. Not that you disagree you're just too dumb too get it type thinking. It's all old hat and it's all been tried before. You're 40 years too late.

You can't even formulate a coherent question. Your arrogant swipe at Canadians is typical of the boorish American self-righteousness that is making the American people so disliked throughout the world.
As someone who doesn't share your opinion I won't bother answering your question because I know that my opinion is of no value to you.

What's the point in being rude to the Canadians? I grew up on the Minnesota/Canada border, and most Canadians have more sense than many Americans.

Lincoln said it best:
"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.
.....and incredibly, he was a Republican!
