A KW Hr is a "kilowatt hour". It is a unit of power consumption or generation over time. In MKS terms, energy is measured in joules. Power is watts, or joules/second. Watt-seconds is therefore a synonym for joules, a measure of energy. 1 kilowatt hour is 3.6 million joules of energy.

If a piece of electrical equipment uses 1000 watts for one hour, that's one kilowatt hour of power consumption. And that will cost you about 10 cents from the electric company.

The unit can also be used more generally to measure any type of power consumption or generation over time.
