I've never been to a Subway in North America, but my local one here in England has been great since it first opened! Everyone thought it was just because it was new therefor they want to attract customers....
but they actually employ lovely people. It's a small one with only 4 seats but the choice is actually better and fresher than some I've been to in London.
My local one is great because they'd let us in before they left the premesis specially and only for the staff at a bar I worked at :)
it sounds all nice and villagey too ... but this area is anything BUT that! So big up to my local Subway! The only fresh fast-food chain that offers generous portions at reasonable prices around England so far!
Sorry, I don't think I answered your question... well they should just please stop asking if I'd like "extra cheese for 30p" , and serve some of the breakfast foods until later.... I mean that's like Mcd's! Sorry it's 30 seconds past 10.30 or whatever... no can do!
haha have any of you seen that film with Michael Douglas (I think) where that happens to him? ... amongst a heap load of everyday pet hates and silliness!

Subway can be a very healthy, yummy meal to eat if you are trying to lose weight (or just live a healthy life style!). The healthiest meats to eat are, in order, Ham, Turkey and Roast Beef. If you want to try something daring, request egg whites on your flatbread and make a form of veggi-delite over it! I used to eat this all the time. The egg whites make the sandwich feel beyond amazing. Try a Subway Club, as well. A six inch of this only has 6 grams of fat if you do not get cheese on it. A Subway club, foot long, has four pieces of turkey, two pieces of ham, and four pieces of roast beef. Pair it with pepper jack cheese, and get your flatbread toasted BEFORE you make the sandwich (keep the meats cold!). Put spicy mustard, a little bit of ranch, spinach, tomatoes, some jalapenos and red whine vinaigrette (This is the Sauce, in the bottle with the chunks, not the Vinegar). This sandwich is healthy and so good!

one very disappointing thing about them is that the majority of workers DO NOT spread the ingredients correctly on the entire bread, specially the 6". Usually they will just grab and drop most ingredients on the sandwich, giving you bites with too much flavour in the middle of the sandwich, and not enough flavour at the ends.
it is for this reason that i dont go there more often. but they have good stuff, so when i go, i end up opening the sandwich myself and spreading ingredients evenly

Most of the meat is processed and icky... also the bread isn't all that good.
In the US, the chain sandwich place called Togo's is awesome...doesn't even compare to Subway...!

The teenage staff. If I get an adult, then it goes well, usually. If it is a teen, it is usually becomes a huge mess. I know for a fact that when no one is in there, they smoke up in the back room. No wonder I couldn't freaking get wheat bread when I asked 5 times and the drugged up worker looked past me (out the window) while making my turkey sub on white...with cheese (as I said, no cheese pleez. No cheese, I said no cheese, please don't put cheese on my sammy...NO FREAKING CHEESE!)

They skimp on the meat and toppings and I perfer flat bread. The hogie thing only works with french dip sandwhiches and cheese steak sandwhiches to me.

I have worked there before, one thing I would do is make the area for making the sandwhiches a little larger so enough workers can fit in the assem. area, with fewer mistakes.

They skimp on the meat. Other major chains put significantly more on their subs for about the same price.
