I need a lip piercing, I'm coming of age where I want to express myself. My mother has no problem with ANYONE expressing themselves, she's pretty much one of the carefree "I was a stoner as a teen" kid. Yeah. . . She's not to keen on me wanting to get a piercing. But I really want snake bites.
I know, the whole side effects story, blah blah blah. I'm not here to hear that.
I want something mature to tell her to convince her let me get the piercing.
As we all know, "no piercings under 18, unless with a guardian".

My son is almost 16 wanted a lip piercing since he was 12 or 13yrs of age..He also needed my consent.....I figured...He has already had an ear pierced when he was 12..that closed up and now he has it where it's stretched a lil bit, (he doesn't want some huge hole in his ear, but just a lil bigger than the first earing) it looks good actually. I allowed him to have his lip pierced just after xmas, as...it can close up ....and Yes it will leave a mark...but so do some blemishes* As for him having a tatoo...that's something that's there for life* We agree he's not to have one of those until he's of age~ It is a part of "expressing oneself" but remember.........when it comes time to getting a job, alot of places ask that you take the piercing out~ I don't see the problem with it. Talk to your mom and tell her why you want one...and that perhaps smoking pot was her thing in her day..but you want to pierce your lip...you're not asking for something outragious* Goodluck*

Im sorry, but I have to ask you, as to why you cant come up with any more options to express yourself?

cant you express yourself, by doing something productive in your community?

Do you think you will get a really good permanent job with those piercings?

Do you intend to get a life at any point, so you dont have to rely on your mother to take care of you?

Stoner kids are typically behind emotionally and intellectually their actual age, which is sad..

You are going to have a hard life ahead of you, if you dont start thinking more highly of yourself, and deciding you want a life where you are productive, wealthy, and inspired..

Right now, you have the mentality of a 14 year old, but pretty soon you will have to make decisions like an adult, and you wont even be able to handle it.

I dont want to tell you, get a life, because that is too basic.. Instead I would rather tell you, that you need to think about what you think you want out of your life... (G-d forbid you die tomarrow.. what awesome things have you truly experienced???)

5 years from now, you will tell yourself.. man.. I didnt know sh*t back then... what the hell was I thinking?!

I promise you.. that is what will happen.
Good luck

They look cool and all, but there are many negative things that come with lip piercings. I and lots of my friends have had these piercings (and many more). My favorite was my Monroe (above the lip like a mole) I had it for 3 years! I loved it. The downside takes forever to heal, many infections, over those 3 years it WILL wear your gums and the enamel of your teeth. It scrapped on my gums for 3 years after a while I started getting headaches and gum pain. My dentist told my either take it out of lose you tooth. =( I took it out, with hesitation. This is the truth it will happen to all mouth piercings with time. Sorry =( The same day I took it out I pierced my nose....which I love.
Mom may say OK to that. Just wait until your 18, you might change your mind and be left with a scar on you FACE. like me

Developmental psychology predicts that juveniles tend to conform to social pressure in their journey to find acceptance in their community. Thus, when you rebel you are really asking for acceptance from a sub-culture that you think may define your identity. Yet, as such an individual is incapable of preceptive insight into their current motivation they often undergo rejection and depression.
Thus, by mutilation the individual gains a false independence they desire though adoration from others in the same developmental stages.

You will see I am right eventually -- "you can't fight the man, because eventually you become the man."

You will be just like your mom some day.... =P

purely get a lip piercing on the realm. no longer each female is going to love that inspite of the shown fact that, so once you're gonna get it get it reason you like it, no longer in view which you like individuals to. i might say purely commence with lip, then while that heals in case you like it get your tongue executed. i comprehend a great form of without postpone men with their tongue pierced, and that i do no longer see something incorrect with it. yet of direction, their are gonna be a great form of those that dislike it and inform you to no longer get it. interior the tip, it purely comes all the way down to you. Get what you prefer to get and are not getting some thing with the aid of fact its what somebody else needs you to get.

You probably do not want to hear this, but I think it is very unattractive and tasteless (no offense). Why don't you get a belly button piercing instead? Its attractive on a girl/lady

You should tell her that its your face and you should do with it as you please. I mean, wouldnt she rather have holes in your face then you smoking pot? And if that doesnt work have your friends mom, a cousin, an older friend or a family member say that their your mom / dad and have them bring you.
