I've been in this situation and I knew that it wouldn't work for us. I knew too much about him. Problem really is this, if the relationship goes sour will the friendship go too? A lot of time it does, hard feelings or whatever. Go with your gut feeling, a friend is a friend for forever but relationships come and go. If you know how he treats his past girls take it into consideration like I did.

definitely, a lot of relationships come out of being friends first. In my opinion that is the best way, but, MAKE SURE he agrees because if he's like no we should be friends it would be sooo akward from then on

i have dated my bestfriend (guy) once, and it has its up sides and its downs.
upside- you can feel really comfortable with each other because you know the other person well. and you know each others interests and dislikes.
downside- is that it can become a hassle is the other person has had time to be comfortable as your 'bestfriend' and might find it harder to commit to you in a relationship.
My advice- if you both like each other i would go for it, becuase you only live once and its better to try it then wave as it passes by, and always wonder what if.

Absolutely! I started dating my best friend my senior year in high school...two years later we got married. It has been 10 yrs and we are still happily married and best friends!

definately. friendship is necessary for a lasting relationship but if it does not work out be prepared to lose a friend.
