An old girlfriend I had not talked to for 10 years just found me on the web and wrote to me. She's divorced but has a new boyfriend she's been going out with for three years and she now has a one year old son. She seems really happy and I think I've been writing things that make me sound too vulnerable. Should I be honest or will I freak her out? I don't want to hurt her but I really need to keep writing to her.

Just keep telling yourself she's just a friend. Friends are important to have.

Don't start telling her you love her, she's a different person than she was 10 years ago. Let her guide the relationship she'd like to have with you over the Internet.

She's attached to someone right now, and she has a child...they come first.

Being mature means not doing and saying things that complicate others lives because we haven't been able to settle things for ourselves. Keep writing her as a friend but do not start telling her you love her and want her back. Respect where she is in life and keep active in your environment around you so you find someone.

don't get to serious, just write her as a friend for a while and get to know each other first. Then if you do get together it wont be all physical and you will know you have things in common to talk about. Just don't rush it.
