yes the intake manifold gaskets have a habit of blowing, I have replaced 3 on mine in 142,000 miles and it's a $500 job at the shop.

the intake gaskets regularly fail on these vehicles from the factory due to poor design. as to them having to be done several times is a little different subject. the gasket design has been "redesigned" many times and the people who perform the work dont take care to clean the gasket well enough, other problems occur from incorrect torque procedeures. just be sure the shop you take it to has a good warranty and a good reputation.

the intake manifolds are a different material or something, and it causes problems on the gasket. if it is going out, many times it will run rough or erradic and lose power for a while before it goes.
