i am about to go to movie school, but kinda little not that confident, cuz it`s well known that whites rule in Tinseltown and if youre an asian u better be a martial artist or smth, is there any possibility that asians can pick up some, say, regular parts? how non-asians see asians in movies? can u imagine us like anything else but nerds, karate kid or liquor store owner?

as for me i am a go go dancer and girls say i`m hot, but i `am still an asian, and i don`t wanna change my face to fit in Hollywood...

what d`you think?

It is a huge obvious scene when you see Asians in movies, that majority of the men mainly are either doing karate/kung fu, or being nerds that people who aren't Asian ignore because noone really speaks on it, which is not fair. Mainly Oscar winning movies has a white cast in it, or if you are a different race, you'll get more attention in a movie with a white man or woman. Example: Halle Berry, doing a sex scene with a white man, and earning an Oscar. One black actor said that it's Ashame that we have to embarrass ourselves to win one of the biggest awards in Hollywood, because that's all Halle seems to be known for now, is being a sex symbol, and not an amazing Actress. Also, many kung fu movies are tradition for Asians, but I also feel they should be notice in other roles to if they have the talent to work a role pertaining to American life styles different from cultural roles, which I know there are good actors/actresses of many different races.

When it comes down to it, you can name majority of white famous outstanding actors, but few of other races, because the ones out there don't get these big roles, and aren't casted in what are supposed to be top movies of our time. But some people are comfortable and greatful to stick to movies that represents where they come from, or what they are known for. I like movies that have truth to them.

hollywood really only has whites and blacks on tv. hispanics and asians are a VERY small percentage in hollywood compared to whites and blacks that are in almost every commercial on tv, or every tv show.

I want to see more Asians, Latinos and Blacks on tv. I'm tired of that generic face on tv...Hollywood likes a certain look. Please, go to school and do it! I wish you luck!
