They also reported that she could have gone through the windscreen but luckily she was wearing a seat belt......the car crashed side on not head on!

Nicole Kidman has been released from hospital today following a crash in which a stunt car she was driving hit a pole during downtown shooting of the science fiction thriller The Invasion, US police said. -- > Early Thursday morning, Nicole Kidman was in a car crash while performing a stunt during the shoot for her latest film, The Invasion. The accident, which didn't look too bad based on the video obtained by TMZ, occurred when Kidman's Jaguar (not her real car, but the one she was driving in the film) was being dragged around a corner by a camera rig. At some point it briefly lost control of the Jag which swung out and crashed into a pole. Glass went everywhere, and folks immediately ran to get Nicole -- no one appeared to care much for the little stunt boy sitting in the front seat. Hey, he was wearing a helmet!
Luckily, Kidman walked away from the accident with a slight limp and appeared to be a little shaken up. In the scene, Kidman's character is attempting to escape zombies or aliens (something not from this world) which have attached themselves to the hood of the car. In total, eight people were injured and taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated.

No this would have not been a story at all, the only reason we are hearing about it is because Nicole Kidman is going through such crap and it seems like they are trying to get more sympathy for her, it wasnt even that bad of a crash and for her it probably wasnt even a big deal, I do feel sorry for the people that were hanging unto the top of the car though.

Yeah, I too think it was a pre-release pub. stunt. Sundance Film Festival, Oscars and Golden Globes had taken most of the Industry press and media. The 'gag' was not that difficult. The 'mother truck' would have had to have been going too fast or misjudge the turn. And 'screwing-the-pooch' on either of those moves would get any driver run-off of a picture for sloppiness.

I heard that, although she's fine, one of them did break an arm and I assumed he was one of the stunt guys on the roof.

Its a publicity stunt to promote the film, a little accident of no consequence, and the studio gets the chance to reap back some of the 8 million they are paying her.

She wasn't injured badly it was only superficial. The guy driving the rig skidded on something on the road and lost it hitting a post.

I thought I was just being cynical. Looking at the footage, it wasn't really a crash..... Funny how the media got to know about it too.... Just remember when the film comes out - don't waste your mney going to see it!
