1. ¡El lobo del norte del fuego! makes some valid points, and the motivation of paul r also has to be questioned. There is a lot of underlying racial/sexual stereotyping (though not all negative) which blurs the debate. This is the main cause of interracial relationships being perceived as problematic.

2. Furthermore, there are also a number of white man types that seek a black female partner for the wrong reason. Here are some (already alluded to by ¡El lobo del norte del fuego!).
a) The Stud - he is engrossed with the belief that black women are sexually voracious, and so likes to be seen about town with a black woman on his arm, because it implies that he must be great in bed, in order to keep her happy (thinks: "eat your heart out, guys, look what I've got here!").
b) The Naughty Boy - he considers that interracial relationships are taboo, and so he seeks that "forbidden" sexual thrill, but he would definitely not want to take her out, for fear of being seen (thinks: "sex with a black woman is great, but I wouldn't want my mates to find out ...").
c) The Imperialist - he believes that black women make more devoted, subservient partners, who will have his dinner cooked when he comes home, and his slippers ready; he will prefer an African, who needs him for her ability to stay in his country, but she has to adapt completely to his white lifestyle (thinks: "stuff your jollof rice and stew, where's my roast beef and yorkshire pudding?!").

3. A lot of collective guilt / distrust still exists over slavery and discrimination, but it is up to individuals to make this world a better place. The solutions exist now, and not in a past, which can never be re-written. Too many farcical, theatrical, token gestures occur, which do nothing to address current issues. Recently a British descendant of slave traders went to the Gambia, and put on chains and begged forgiveness. What a prat! The people he should have apologised to are in the Americas - quite possibly he was apologising to descendants of people who had sold slaves to the Europeans! Read this BBC article - the apology was delivered in "French, German and English - the languages of the nations responsible for much of the African slave trade". German?? I think they missed out Spanish and Portuguese. Both these countries continued with slavery long after abolition by the British.

4. At the end of the day, who you have a relationship with depends on you, your preferences, and what you are comfortable with. Some white men prefer blondes (step forward Rod Stewart!), and so will never date outside their race. All that really matters is that we show each other respect, as well as love.

Black women tend to date inside their race because IT IS NOT seen acceptable as a black men/white women. Black women still have bad blood between white men. This dates back to slavery when white men would rape black women. Another reason is racial loyalty. Black women are branded as traitors for dating "The Man". People ask "why you doing little di.ck over there when you can have a monster snake here?. There is also a stigma that white guys only want to date black women for sex. It's hard to see if white men are dating you for you and not for the experiment. Many black women wonder if white guys date them to get the "chocolate experience" and leave them. Another thing is how in the PAST white men would date black women and keep them a secret from their families and friends. We DON'T want to be used! Another thing is SOME believe that whites have little di.cks. Another reason is the fact that We still dislike whites for the gross things they did to us in the past. Also, Black women CANNOT tell if a white guy dates black women. She has a 75% risk of being rejected because of her race than her looks. Another thing is white men are SHY to approach black women. They aren't confidence and MOST women like confidence. Finally, Some black women are prejudice and ONLY want a black family. REMEMBER, blacks are still isolated from whites! Anyways, I don't hate white men but I THOUGHT I could date one but I can't until I solve my prejudices.

I don't mind...I don't choose by race
maybe you're running into the women who feel they've already been judged by you...you've seen the questions posted on here about black girls trying to act tough...a bunch of negative stereotypes
maybe they just don't want to deal with it...
I find it a bit frustrating that a cute white guy wont a approach me...but he will approach my asian white or spanish friend =\
and maybe even my light skinned black friend =\
only black guys..and maybe a brown guy will approach me...nothing wrong with that...but it makes you wonder....
