The basic division is traditionally called "conservative," which is Republican, and "liberal," which is Democrat. However, these two have gotten rather mixed up over the years with regard to economic issues versus social issues. So in fact, we need a map, not merely a line, in order to see that there are other viewpoints available. See the map and take the World's Smallest Political Quiz at the link below.

Also mapped are Libertarians, for my choice, or at the opposite extreme, you find the Greens and/or various other big-government points of view. Oh, yes, the Greens want big government. Different from the one we have, no doubt, but big.

A Republic is a country with a representative government.

A Democrat is a member of the Democratic party.

A republic are saying a Republican they believe in nominating a moron for President, a Democrat believe in nominating great President like the Clinton's.

A democrat will tell you I feel that things should be this way...without thinking...
A republican will say I think things are this way as the facts say they are...

And despite the previous poster..it is PROVEN in a study at the notoriously liberal UC Berkely....GOP are more educated and smarter than the adverage Dem...sorry but I THINK facts shoot ya down...you have to blame all the inner city folks for bringing your adverage down....you pander to the welfare and lower socio-economic class and they join your party...it lowers the mean that my friend...IS REALITY...
