In folklore, lycanthropy is the ability or power of a human being to undergo transformation into a wolf. The term comes from ancient Greek lykánthropos (λυκάνθρωπος): λύκος, lýkos ("wolf") + άνθρωπος, ánthrōpos ("man") (Rose, 230). The word can also be used transitively, referring to the act of transforming someone else into a wolf, or werewolf.

How do you become. I can tell you there are several ways.
First: You drink water out of a wolf's paw print.
Second: You wear a belt made of wolf's skin.
Third: You have sexual relationship with a wolf.
Fourth: You wear a wolf's skin.
Fifth: You are cursed by someone like a wizard or witch.
Sixth: You are born into it.

Infomation on them. I know some of my cusion's in Germany who are werewolves and have friends who are werewolves (lucky them because I wasn't born with the gene.)

I think I answered the question "is it a curse". But if I didn't then yes it can be a curse.

I heard there were some in small villages of southern italy in second half of 1900. it should be a mental problem and may have some links with genetics.....i know they're afraid of up-lifted places...i mean, they shouldn't be able to reach you if you climb up a ladder or up the stairs of a church...!
