the latter. it prevents you from having your heart and guts ripped out by someone who is not deserving of that power.
the former. 'cause when you finally get it right it feels great--until death, disease, desire, disdain, and distraction claim your love. Then it feels worse than the latter.
ignorance is bliss.

Yes, I love my" First Love" with my whole heart and soul. We dated from the age 12-19. We shared the happiest times of my life, we split up when our lives started moving in different directions, I thought I would die and I decided I would never let myself love like that again because it hurt so much.
And true to my word, I have been married for almost 22 years and I love my husband, but I have never opened my heart and soul up twice.
But, how sad would my life have been to never have experianced that kind of love once

When you have loved and lost, it feels horrible and you wish you had never loved at all. When you have never loved you know what the feeling is and there is nothing in this world that can compare to love and the feeling you have when you are in love. But I do believe that it is better to have loved than to never loved at all, although I have wished that I never loved, because I was so so hurt.
