If I was having a 30 min. shower, will it be more water usage then having a 3/4 of the water filled in the bathtub?

I think I might've tested it before but I forgot. How did I test it? I clogged the tub while taking a shower for 30 min. to see if it filled 3/4 of the bathtub. Take a shower and test it for me =p Thanks! ^_^

I just added this, don't have to answer but I would be pleased:

How about having a tub half full then a 30 min. shower?

My stepdad wants all the kids to have a bath 'cuz he thinks it uses less water doing that. I think the kids uses the water halfway

I do disagree with him... and the kids are all boys, I'm sure they take a 10-15 min. shower

bath uses more water. you might want to think about getting a water saver head for your shower, which will save you even more water.

I would say that a 30 minute shower uses quite a lot of water, very possibly more than a tub bath. It almost seems excessive (and waste full) when I can take a shower and get clean in less than 10 minutes. If I want to spend that much time in the water, I go swimming.

A tub 3/4 full is about 35 gallons.

A conservative shower head use 3 gallons per minute.

A 30 minute shower would use more water but a 30 minute shower is a very long shower.

If you install a infinate hot water ystem then you will save more money on electricity then using more water. But as far as conserving water that is a test you will have to do yourself. Your water pressure, your tub, showering and bathing habits.

Usually a shower. It should not take you more than 15 minutes to take a shower. The idea of a bath is to soak and relax.

average tub holds 40 gals of water...a shower head can only give out 3 gals per min.....so 3 x 30 is 90 gals, so the tub is cheaper.....

I would assume that it would depend on your water pressure. Different pressure means different results. There are more variables such as tub size. If you (just as an example) had a large luxury tub, then it would take much longer to fill it.

You would think a bath would, but I thought I read somewhere it usually takes more in the shower. . .so I guess I am stumped. Good question!
