I refer to the whole spanking debate. I know we need to protect those that cannot do so themselves (kids), however I do believe that the line does need to be drawn somewhere in this issue. Also, how can one enforce it? Please spare readers any biblical quotes or hatefilled response. This is solely to hear clear, concise opinions.

I guess they got spanked as kids, and didn't like it. So now they're making ALL parents suffer the consequences. I think this is a terrible idea. Humanists think they are so very smart, but WHAT IF THEY ARE WRONG??? What if this permissiveness and lack of boundaries backfires and creates a generation of wild, unruly barbarians?

Wups! Too late...

I agree. I do believe a line needs to be drawn. There is a big difference between spanking and abuse. If parents quit spanking their children....the kids are going to go wild and uncontrollable. The government should have no say when it comes to that. Don't fix anything that isn't broken.

Spare biblical quotes? Sheesh. Okay, I'll simply tell you: a child left to himself or herself becomes a shame to the parents. Those who have sex must be willing to responsibly guide the result. This society is very messed up mostly from spending the last 40 years not doing that.

Because this country has gone WAY too far when it comes to legislating "safety".And do you know who is behind this flood of "safety legislation"???It is the liberals, they want to take care of all of us by telling us how to live our lives and how to raise and discipline our children.I say keep your nose out of peoples lives and figure out how to fix all the other crap!!!

Because they see it as their job. What is the point of having executive power if you can't use it to stick your nose in to areas that have nothing to do with you.
