i just got a new laptop and i want to setup a hotmail account. I already set it up but now I want it to save my email address and password but it won't let me. I checked the box and logged in, I checked all my security settings and fixed them and it still won't let me save it. Could it be my virus scanner? I have Norton, would Mcaffee be better??

More than likely, it's the security settings in your Internet browser. If you're using Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Options, then Security. See where the security bar is set to. Change it to a lower setting.

Doubtful that it's the AntiVirus Program, Have you signed up for a .Net Passport with Microsoft?, when you do, it will auto save what you want with the Hotmail account.
