Depends check the yellow pages for coupons. I was able to take six weeks of classes and the 40 hours behind the wheel for $199.99 and they took me to the DMV for my test. And my instructor was very nice. And I was 29 when I took my test! No kidding city girl moved to the country needed to drive the bus system here sucks!

In NJ it averages $200 to $350. Usually 6 to 12 behind the wheel hours. You still need to practice more - usually with family or licensed friends.

Instructors have been fine. The test officials can be grumpy at times, but I guess I would be too with that job!

I seriously think it depends on age, i was 16 when i took my classes and you have to serve some 40 hours or more, and 20 hours behind the wheel...... waste of time, i learned more on my own than going with them, they were nice dont get me wrong, but only cause i paid them, 260..........lame.....*sigh*
