I just bought the cutest green jadite glass kitchen knife on ebay. I love jadite and I have never seen anything like this knife so I had to have it. I probably wont use it any way, but what is the purpose of a glass knife?

If it is old as in antique, it is likely colored with Uranium salts, and is radioactive. You can verify this with a blacklight. It it fluoresces, it is radioactive. It will be harmless for display purposes, just don't cut any cake with it. (Probably wouldn't really hurt you anyway, but just a precaution.)

If it is new and doesn't glow - it's fine to use to cut cakes.
