Could you recommend a basic but thorough book on the basics of interior design?

I'm looking for something that would cover topics such as symmetry, color, balance, texture, lighting, etc. I posted this Q earlier under decorating but didn't really get any answers.

Honestly, read Elle Decor. It's a magazine, but they do profiles on different styles and you can really get a good eye from reading it regularly.
