yes the active ingredient is still nicotene, and that is a strong toxin too many people, on the patch its in constant undiluted contact with the skin and is being absorbed untill its removed and washed away. the same thing happens to people who use snuff in thier gums or a wad of chewing tobacco in their cheeks, the probablity of disease is magnifed tremendously
