Hey, I'm a psych student. Apparently some study was done that proved that people who write in black ink are more likely to be seen as intelligent. This is obviously when the person reading what has been written hasn't met the writer - interesting eh! So always write in Black if you want to make a good impression.
I personally prefer blue - if it's a nie blue, but I always use black when it's something I'm going to submit to somewhere else e.g. at work and stuff.

To be honest I could care less about the color, I just hate the pens that you have to re-trace your words like 5 times because the ink stops working and then starts again all of the time, know what I mean? I guess if I had to choose I would say black.

Whenever I sign something I use BLUE. That way I can tell if the document is an original with my actual signature or a photocopy or fax copy. I really do not care if the blue ink does not show up well or not on a copy.

Well, it doesn't really matter to me, but I prefer black because it makes my handwriting look neater.

My own preference is blue, but - I think that your writing may improve if you have a pen with one of those handles that are designed to be comfortable. The feeling of the handle should matter much more than the color of the ink!!
